Taking on a legacy

Leading the redesign of nationalgeographic.com and the NatGeo Mobile App was a career highlight. Our mission was to revitalize NatGeo’s digital magazines and integrate their TV Channel/Film brand update. We embraced a mobile-first approach to ensure a consistent, captivating experience across devices.

As Associate Creative Director, I conceptualized the UX and Art Direction, collaborated with NatGeo to finalize the design, and partnered with a skilled UX/UI team to bring this vision to life.

Optimizing the Reading Experience

A pivotal aim in redesigning nationalgeographic.com was to captivate readers with immersive article pages, given they're among the site's most frequented. Our design strategy revolved around crafting versatile templates that could adapt to the brand's growth and dynamic requirements. This approach not only enhanced user engagement but also led to a significant increase in ad revenue.

Digital Translation of the Brand

In our redesign, we crafted a UI system echoing the cinematic essence of NatGeo's freshly minted TV Channel + Film branding. As they transitioned from print to a predominantly digital medium, it was paramount to replicate the editorial experience in this digital landscape—always ensuring adherence to industry best practices and accessibility standards.
