Hi, I’m Shalimar Luis, a creator through and through with a passion for solving both strategic and creative problems. I love making things beautiful and useful.

Since graduating from the School of Visual Arts in 2007, I’ve been fortunate to work across almost every graphic design medium—from advertising and branding to print, packaging, and my personal favorite, web design and digital experiences. My passion lies in brand and visual storytelling, creating narratives that resonate and connect with audiences.

What excites me most about web and app design is creating something that people find useful. Whether it’s helping someone solve a problem, find a product, or get lost in a story, it’s the most connected and interactive form of design. The feedback, iteration, and continuous improvement make it addictive.

I spent over 8 years at Kettle, a digital design agency, rising from Senior Designer to Creative Director in just 4 years. During this time, I had the privilege to lead amazing award-winning projects, create business-winning pitches, and mentor young talent, watching them grow into leaders themselves.

Beyond my role as a Creative Director, I’m also an artist with a studio practice in Hoboken, NJ.
