Taking on a legacy
Leading the redesign of nationalgeographic.com and the NatGeo Mobile App was a career highlight. Tasked with revitalizing NatGeo’s digital magazines and integrating their TV Channel/Film brand update, we embraced a mobile-first approach to ensure a consistent, captivating experience across devices.
As Associate Creative Director, I conceptualized the User Experience and Art Direction, collaborated with NatGeo on finalizing the design, and partnered with a skilled UX/UI team to bring this vision to life.
Optimizing the Reading Experience
A pivotal aim in redesigning nationalgeographic.com was to captivate readers with immersive article pages—given they're among the site's most frequented. Our design strategy revolved around crafting versatile templates that could adapt with the brand's growth and dynamic requirements.

Digital Translation of the Brand
In our redesign, we crafted a UI system echoing the cinematic essence of NatGeo's freshly minted TV Channel + Film branding. As they transitioned from print to a predominantly digital medium, it was paramount to replicate the editorial experience in this digital landscape—always ensuring adherence to industry best practices and accessibility standards.
Award Winner
Under our redesign, nationalgeographic.com and the NatGeo App garnered multiple accolades in 2018 and 2019. Notably, the NatGeo Mobile App clinched a Webby, while NationalGeographic.com secured three W3 Gold Awards in the categories of Structure & Navigation, Homepage, Branding, and Best Practices.
